Trees

Shoe and Boot Trees can be made to order. Generally made using Beech or Mahogany wood with other wood types available. Shoe Trees made using a hinge, push pull pivot or three-piece construction with wax and polish, and can be hollowed in various styles, finished with a variety of dyes or varnishes, and can incorporate a selection of hardware or wooden handle shapes. The most popular shoe tree styles are customarily made with a sunken hinge construction and are waxed and polished.

Boot Trees are made in 3-4 piece construction and are made for boots ranging from short ankle boots to cavalry boot style.

Options for wood selection include:

Light in weight and in colour

  • Jelutong or Obeche (very lightweight)
  • Tulip (still lightweight although stronger, light in colour )
  • Cedar (often used unfinished and thought to keep freshness)
  • Beech ( Heavier weight, light in colour and most commonly used )

Below are heavier in weight like the beech but darker in colour (for those who prefer a strong wood and antique appearance)

  • Cherry
  • Walnut
  • Mahogany  ( most commonly used of the darker woods )
  • Wenge

Other wood varieties and custom stain finishes are available.

Options for tree hardware and handles include:

  • Name plates in brass.
  • Brass, silver plate rings
  • Knobs also available in brass, wood, or silver plate
  • Shaped wooden handles or another design of your choice
