Steven Lowe, the owner of Crispinians

Crispinians was established in 2012 by Steven Lowe.

Steven, who started his career in 1984 as an apprentice at John Lobb Bootmaker, London. Trained as a Master Fitter and Lastmaker. At Lobb, Steven became the senior U.S.A representative, a role he served overall for 21 years. Measuring clients, making their lasts and fitting the bespoke orders. Overseeing all aspects of the process of shoemaking for quality control. Serving clients visiting from around the world Steven continued to acquire the other various disciplines within the trade to give the best knowledgeable service possible. After 28 years of service, Steven decided to create his own company, Crispinians, making custom fit lasts, shoe and boot trees supplying many shoe and boot making companies such as Foster and son, Maxwell and Schnieder Boots in Mayfair, London and beyond. Crispinians developed Gentry Bespoke to offer the service of custom made footwear so Steven could continue to use his knowledge and skills designing for and with individual clients.

Also aiding many shoemakers, passing on these skills and knowledge to his contemporaries and the next generation. Steven has actively held and spoken at conferences and presentations to keep the traditions of the trade from becoming diluted or lost both in the U.K and abroad.

Steven offers at Crispinians workshop, Lastmaker House,  Last Making Courses.
